Selective entry programs
At Brisbane South State Secondary College, we recognise every future is different and requires a level of flexibility and adaptability.
We are dedicated to creating opportunities to nurture our students’ inner greatness, providing diverse learning opportunities to ensure every student is prepared for their chosen future.
All students both within catchment and out-of-catchment are entitled to apply for a Selective Entry Program. The Executive Principal is responsible for all decisions on selective entry enrolment and the decision will be final.
How to apply
Applications into the 2025 Academies open on Wednesday 24 April 2024 and will strictly close on Friday 17 May 2024.
In-Catchment Selective Entry Applications
If you are applying for one of our Selective Entry Academies, you will need to refer to the bottom of the In-Catchment for Enrolment Consideration Checklist for Academy requirements.
Please note: This is not a direct entry into the program. Further information will be emailed to parents after the submission closing date.
You will be required to pay the following Academy processing fee via QKR! at the time of submitting your application. Please note: This fee is non-refundable and Applications will not be considered if this payment is not received . Details can be found on the Biomedical Science Academy or AFL Academy Application for Consideration Form.

Out-of-Catchment Selective Entry Applications
If you are applying for one of our Selective Entry Academies, you will need to refer to the bottom of the Out-Catchment for Enrolment Consideration Checklist for Academy requirements.

Current BSSSC Students
If you are a current student at BSSSC, you may apply for the AFL Academy by completing the electronic form on the AFL Academy page.

Submitting Applications
At Brisbane South SSC, we pride ourselves on the implementation of 'The New Standard' in education. As part of this, we are proud to leverage digital practices as part of our enrolment process.
If you do not have access to Adobe Acrobat, the preferred web browser to fill out the enrolment forms on a desktop is Microsoft Edge.
We recommend completing these forms on a desktop/Mac. If you do not have access to a desktop/Mac, you can follow the below instructions for completing forms on mobile devices (note: the preferred web browser to fill out the enrolment forms on mobile devices is Good Chrome.

Please note: Copies of documentation listed on the Application for Enrolment Consideration Checklist must be submitted and emailed as one PDF attachment. Incomplete applications will not be considered and confidential information will be destroyed.
