To ensure our community acknowledges and caters to every student’s inherent differences, the key design and planning features of the College have taken into consideration the incorporation of environmental, social and educational aspects, enabling a truly student-led approach to learning.
Brisbane South State Secondary College students will benefit from campus features including:

Sports Facilities
Brisbane South State Secondary College is committed to providing our students with access to high‑quality sporting environments that support their wellbeing, skill development, and overall educational experience. We are pleased to announce that our students will continue to utilise the elite sporting facilities at The University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus under a new agreement that extends access through to the end of 2028.
This renewed arrangement not only maintains our connection with UQ’s outstanding, high‑performance sporting precinct, but also expands the range of fields and facilities available to our students. These world‑class venues play an important role in helping our young athletes thrive, train, and participate in a diverse array of sporting activities.
Originally, the Department of Education planned to provide off‑site sporting facilities at Rocklea. However, following a detailed assessment, it was determined that the site could not be feasibly remediated to meet the school’s educational and sporting requirements. The department has now commenced the process of disposing of this property.
The extension of our partnership with UQ ensures continuity for our students and provides additional time for the department to explore long‑term arrangements that will meet the College’s future sporting and educational needs.
