Brisbane South State Secondary College is proud to offer free and confidential healthcare services to our students. In partnership with Cornwall Street Medical Centre, we have a General Practitioner one day a week during the school term.
The state government provides funding for the “GP In Schools Program" which has allowed us to set up a fit-for-purpose clinic in our Administration Hub.

Our GP Clinic is currently open on Tuesdays from from 8:40am to 2:30pm
What services will the GP provide?
Our GP is here to support student health whilst they are at school. They are not here to replace students' usual doctor, but she can help with:
- feeling stressed, anxious, angry, low mood, or overwhelmed;
- feeling tired or having trouble sleeping;
- problems at home or school;
- managing health conditions like asthma or allergies;
- sexual health and contraception advice;
- questions about nutrition and eating
- questions about vaping, smoking or drug use;
- referrals to other health professionals if needed.
Will there be a cost for students to see the GP?
All visits to the GP will be provided at no cost to students or their families. Our GP visits are bulk-billed through Medicare. so it is important that students complete the electronic Registration form and email it to:
If students are not eligible to access Medicare, the cost of the appointment will be covered by the college.
